We currently have a number of projects on the books. Some are already active and usable by the internet community, while others are in varying states of construction. Here's the current list, with an explanation of what each application and/or service offers (or will offer eventually).

All these sites were designed, developed, and implemented by Broken Consort Technologies free of charge.

Other services will be designed and developed as requests are made.

Website (click to visit) Description
The Trombone Forum The Trombone Forum is a community of trombonists, world-wide, who gather to discuss gear, music, ways to teach and learn, associated musical thoughts--as well as politics, games, life, the universe, and everything. With an active membership of around 5,000 users, members have immediate access to all aspects of the forum, including a gallery, link library, and other perqs.
SamBurtis.com
The Open Horn
Sam Burtis, a noted and oft-recorded trombonist, tubist, composer, and arranger, has his own site, SamBurtis.com, on which he shares his decades of insight into the art and craft of playing brass instruments, as well as a forum, The Open Horn, on which frank and open discussions on a variety of topics take place.
TTF Classifieds The Trombone Forum has a standalone site which serves as a very active classified advertising system. EBay is great, but sometimes it is reassuring to offer your brass-related good for sale to individuals who already understand their worth! Membership and selling/buying are free--no percentage of the sale is taken by the site, nor is there a charge for advertising. Ads are monitored for spam and other unethical violations.
TTF Cookbook It's no secret that low brass players are gourmands. What is somewhat less known is that a few of them are actually gormets. With a recipe database drawn monthly from submissions via a special area on The Trombone Forum, this collection of recipes, from the sacred (Baked Brie in Puff Pastry) to the profane (poverty-style souther fish gravy), are guaranteed to tickle your palate.
The HyperLibrary The HyperLibrary is a simple application, really--it allows participating organizations to have any number of logins to the system which allow their music library to be entered, edited, and maintained. Full-text search is available, program notes, difficulty, style, ensemble type, and other information can be attached to each piece. Library numbers are automatically assigned. The location of pieces can be listed, and full reports can be printed. The best part is that partcipating ensembles can search other groups' libraries and initiate requests for loans between organizations. As with all BCT applications, membership is free for all community and civic organizations.
WikiBone The WikiBone project is meant to serve the universe as the repository of record for all information pertaining to the trombone. Material submitted will be edited and progress through a set of juried procedures before being noted as "accepted," much as the much better well-know Wikipedia operates.

The WikiBone project has progressed through the creation of the site and its software, and is just getting started on accepting applications for editors, subject matter experts, and contributors; now would be a great time to volunteer!

The Gearbase The newest addition to the BCT offerings is The Hornbase. It's note available yet, as the design and coding are not yet complete. The Hornbase will fill a very important need in the this uncertain day and age. Instrument thefts are on the rise, and to many a musician, their instrument (or mixer, or recording device, or laptop, etc.) is their paycheck. While some musicians are logical and organized and can, at any given moment, lay their hands on documentary evidence showing they own their horn--serial numbers, part numbers for custom bells, ownership papers and receipts, and other items--most of us can't. When/if your instrument is stolen, not having this information readily at hand can slow down, and in some cases stop and investigation of the theft. Like most BCT applications, the genesis of this site's concept began with the question "Wouldn't it be nice if..." Estimated go-live date for 4th quarter 2009.
NABBA Board And here's example of one nonprofit organization (Broken Consort Technologies) doing a service for another (The National Association of Brass Bands). The NABBA board of directors, much like other national music organization's boards (The Association of Concert Bands and Windjammers Unlimited come immediately to mind), is scattered all over the US between conventions. NABBA's board needed a "place" to meet during off-times to discuss, debate, propose, and vote on issues. Now they have one. (private site)
